2025 Moments That Matter: Cherishing the Unspoken

2025 ~ what. a. year.

Of the 34 flights and the 8 countries visited – do you know what I will treasure the most?

The quiet moments, the “unspoken world.”

It’s having your whole family in your first home, one you’ve filled with the essence of you. your love.

It’s seeing your mums face as you land beneath the snow capped Himalayas, tears forming in her eyes as she whispers “thank you for brining me here. I’d let go of thinking I would make it in this lifetime.”

It’s the chai sipped in the local store, barely a word of mutual language spoken between you, but an understanding of how different your lives are. And yet in some way, how a familiar undercurrent connects you.

It’s the sweet local South Indian lady who speaks no English but communicates her love in gestures, smiles and head tilts, and you know it’s your souls that are speaking. Because you understand every unspoken word.

It’s the way your heart sings as your feet land on the soil of the Nant Ffrancon Valley after 6 years, and knowing you’ve come home.

It’s the hug from your teacher that spans life times and universes and yet lands you home within yourself, all at once.

It’s in finding a “job” that comes so naturally you feel like you were made for it.

It’s the peace and stillness you find in the countless hours of your practice, your sadhana.

It’s looking for “wizards” (commonly called lizards) with your nephews as your family sit on the porch of a Queenslander in the airlie beach heat.

It’s communicating with your passed away father through the sun beams in the clouds, the sparkles on the ocean, the birds at the door, and sometimes – hearing a response.

It’s the simplicity of living off the ocean with your best friends, surrounded by love.

It’s finding and surrounding yourself with your sanga.

It’s the love for the people in your life your soul knows so deeply.

And finally, at the end of the year,
it’s landing so deeply,
so softly
within yourself.
a growing flame dancing passionately inside,
to the gentle rhythm of your breath.

And as you stare ahead, you see in the distance
a clear path beginning to form,
one that was carved out
just for you.
